Another Place for Rugs

We’ve talked about how much your rugs can endure on the floor, from excitable pets to muddy shoes, but there’s another space in your home or office that’s perfect for a rug: your walls!

Yes, you read that correctly: your walls are a great space to decorate with rugs. Sure, you can throw up a print of some famous Van Gough painting or you can create an accent wall with a bold paint choice, but why stop there when you can be artistic AND efficient with a hanging rug?

Like the tapestries of medieval castles, hanging rugs are an expression of your tastes and style. Choose a bold pattern to make, in terms of cost per inch, a massive and affordable statement. If your style lies in a neutral palette but also favors a bit of a punch, hanging rugs are a great way to make those neutrals pop. Their uniqueness draws attention to even the simplest of colors and designs. A hanging rug will make more of an impact within your palette than typical wall decor.

Hanging rugs aren’t just there to look pretty; they can help with acoustics and sound dampening, too! Living in the city means noisy streets and close quarters, even noisier and closer if you’re in an apartment or condo. You can create beautiful acoustics with hanging rugs, just like they do in music studios, to make the sounds you love sound even better. Or, if you enjoy peace and quiet, hang a rug on the wall that connects you and your neighbors to drown out their noises and keep yours in. Placing a rug on the wall works to dampen sound just as it does on the floor. Use hanging rugs to make sure your home or office fills with the sounds you want and not the noises from the world outside.

You might have thought we were crazy when we mentioned walls at the start of this blog, but we bet you’re already planning what could look good on that empty wall in your bedroom. Hanging rugs are the perfect decoration to keep your home just the way you want it.
